When you need this check

Three moments that do not wait

The check is most useful when a decision has a date attached. If none of these is true yet, it is probably too early, and we say so on the call.

An exclusivity request has arrived

The distributor asks for exclusive territory or a multi-year term.

Exclusivity is the commitment that is hardest to undo. The check tests the licence route, the proposed terms and the evidence behind the company's claims before you sign it.

What the check covers

The first shipment is being scheduled

A first order has a date and a deposit attached.

A first shipment can be held at the port over a classification, a surveyor report or a certificate. The check traces each requirement to its source before the goods move.

What the check covers

You are replacing a distributor

The current relationship is ending and a replacement is being considered.

A replacement brings the same questions back, plus the product registration, stock and territory the outgoing distributor holds. The check covers the proposed appointment, not the exit.

What the check covers

What you actually receive

A decision brief, not a data dump

Three lines from the illustrative report, exactly as they appear: a rule line with its source and date, one cost difference, and the priority finding.

Priority finding

HOLD: Import licence route. Do not sign the proposed agreement yet.

The available evidence is not sufficient to proceed on the proposed terms. The arrangement remains unresolved: confirm a lawful import route and review the appointment terms before signing. Next action: Verify the import route: obtain the distributor's written licence position, then put it to an Indonesian specialist.

Worked example

One claim, followed to a HOLD decision

A Korean valve exporter is considering an exclusive distributor in Surabaya. The company exists. Whether it can import for resale is a different question, and the answer decides what the exporter should do next.

How the engagement works

Four stages. Fixed dates, named roles.

You accept a written proposal before any work starts. Each stage produces something you keep, and the price and date are fixed in that proposal.

Start with a 30-minute call. No cost, and we tell you if the check is not the right tool.

You bring

One proposed deal

  • The product family, up to three models
  • The named distributor and the destination country
  • The proposed terms, or the draft agreement

Bring what you have. We say what is missing.

We check

What every check has to answer

  1. IdentityDo the records support what they claim?
  2. PermissionCan this company import and resell your valves?
  3. CostWhat changes if one assumption fails?
  4. CommitmentWhat does each term create before you sign?

Every line carries the official text, the provision and the date it was read.

You hold

A decision brief

  • The finding, and the evidence behind it
  • What is unresolved, and who can close it
  • The next action, before you sign

Signed by a director

Tell us the deal and the date you must decide

Step 130-minute call

We learn the product, the countries involved, the proposed distributor and what is at stake, and we tell you if the check is not the right tool.

Ask for a 30-minute call

You receive

A short written note of the deal, the decision date and whether we can help.

  • No cost and no obligation
  • We say when it is not for you
  • Your documents stay confidential

Know the scope, date and price before you commit

Step 2Two-page proposal

Before you accept, the proposal states the available sources, selected checks, any specialist review, report language, delivery date and price.

Explore the scope and price

You receive

A two-page proposal: scope, available sources, named reviewer, price and delivery date.

  • One product family, up to 3 related models
  • One proposed distributor, one destination
  • Referral fees, if any, stated in writing

See what the evidence actually supports

Step 3Dates agreed in writing

Every rule line is traced to the official text with its date. If we are more than 5 working days late, you may cancel for a full refund.

Explore the case workspace

You receive

The evidence register: one line per requirement, with source, provision and the date read.

  • Each rule line dated and sourced
  • Rules reviewed by the reviewer named in your proposal
  • Selected terms set out, not a legal contract review

Make your next move with a signed decision brief

Step 445-minute readout

We explain the priority issues, how far the evidence goes and the questions to resolve before appointment.

See a check in action

You receive

The decision brief, then a 45-minute readout call on the finding and the next actions.

  • Findings dated to the evidence we read
  • Not permission to import
  • Not a promise of sales

Delivery is 10 working days from complete documents, up to 15 for a first check. If we are more than 5 working days late against the date in your proposal, you may cancel for a full refund. The evidence register and the decision brief are yours to keep.

Scope, price and limitations

Scope first. A quote before work.

S$2,900 is fixed for the standard eligible scope. Anything outside it is quoted separately, with the reason stated in the proposal before work. If we cannot do the check, we say so before you pay anything.

The Deal Readiness Check

S$2,900

S$2,900 is the fixed price for this standard eligible scope: one proposed distributor, one product family of up to three related models, one appointment decision in one destination market, where we can confirm the sources and specialist review before accepting the assignment. It is not a universal price. Other assignments are quoted separately, with the reason stated in the proposal.

  • Dated findings and their evidence
  • Priority issues, missing information and next steps
  • Written assessment and a readout call

What the standard scope covers

One check, one decision

Delivery is 10 working days from complete documents, up to 15 working days for first checks, as confirmed in the proposal.

  • English report with Korean summary
  • Other assignments are quoted separately. The proposal gives the reason: additional models or distributors, another destination market, another language, limited source access, or specialist review that has to be arranged.
  • The sources, the named reviewer and the revision allowance are fixed in the proposal before payment.

Our correction promise. If a rule statement in the report was wrong on the date we checked it, and you tell us within 60 days of delivery, we correct the report and refund the fee.

If a person or organisation introduced you and receives a referral fee from us, we tell you in the proposal. We pay that fee ourselves; it does not change your price. We never take fees from the distributors we check.

Scope, eligibility and exclusions: what the check covers and what it does not.

Who performs and reviews the work

Who checks, who reviews, who signs

Three roles, named before work starts. The report shows what each person did: what the analyst checked, what the reviewer confirmed, what the director signed.

The analyst

One person works your file from the first call. Every rule line is checked against the official text and carries the date it was read. Where a figure is an estimate, the report says so.

The specialist reviewer

Where the scope requires local regulatory expertise, the proposal names the reviewer, their qualifications or registration and the exact questions they will review. That is confirmed before any payment is taken. If the review cannot be arranged, we do not accept that scope.

The signer

Indhran Seghar, director of AIR APAC Pte. Ltd., signs the recommendation, and the report carries his name. It shows what each person did: what the analyst checked, what the reviewer confirmed, what the director signed.

We are new. The worked example demonstrates the method; it is not a completed client engagement. We are building our record of customer work, and every accepted assignment has an agreed scope, evidence requirements and accountable reviewers.

Where specialist review stands

Peter Ang is the Indonesian reviewer for Tradezur. Where a check needs Indonesian regulatory review, the proposal states his registration, the exact questions he will answer and the review date before any payment is taken. The illustrative example on this site has not been reviewed by him. If that review cannot be arranged for your market, we decline the scope rather than proceed without it.

The contracting company, the director and the review arrangements in full.

Buyer questions

The questions buyers ask before they pay

Cost, risk, comparisons and suitability, answered the same way we would answer them on the call.

What does the Deal Readiness Check cost?
S$2,900 is the fixed price for the standard eligible scope: one named distributor, one product family of up to three related models, one destination market and one appointment decision. Anything outside that scope is quoted separately, with the reason stated in the proposal before work. Nothing is charged until the scope, the sources and any specialist review are confirmed in writing.
What could go wrong when appointing an overseas distributor?
Four failures come up most often: a distributor that cannot lawfully import the product for resale; a first shipment held for a missing certificate, surveyor report or registration; exclusivity granted before the import route is confirmed; and a landed cost built on an assumption that turns out to be wrong. Each is cheaper to find before appointment than after.
How is this different from a trade agency or a customs broker?
A trade agency usually works the market side and may bring buyers to you. A customs broker files entries and clears shipments for the importer. Neither is hired to tell you whether this distributor can do what the appointment requires. We are hired by the exporter and paid only by the exporter, take no fee from any distributor we check, and do not file customs documents or act as importer of record.
When should an exporter commission this check?
Before an exclusivity request is signed, before a first shipment is scheduled against a date, or before an existing distributor is replaced. It works best when a decision has a date attached and the distributor is named. If the distributor is still a shortlist of candidates, the check is premature.
When is this service unsuitable?
When the distributor cannot be named, the product documents needed for classification are missing, the question is a credit check, an audit or a legal opinion, or the destination market needs a local licence or specialist review we cannot arrange. We say so on the call, before any proposal or payment.
Can you check my proposed distributor and product?
One named distributor, one product family (up to three related models) and one proposed appointment, in any market where we can confirm the sources and the specialist review. Tell us the countries, the product and the date you must decide; we confirm in writing whether the check can be undertaken before you pay anything.
Who checks the findings?
An analyst checks every rule line against the official text and records the date. Where specialist review is required, the proposal names the reviewer, qualifications and exact scope before payment. A director signs the recommendation and the name is on the report.

Start with the proposed appointment

Tell us the product and models, the proposed distributor, the countries involved and the date you must decide. We reply with times for a 30-minute call.

Earlier in the process? A short 15-minute call about your HS code is the secondary route, not the check.

We work through introductions. If someone sent you this page, please tell us who, so we can thank them.
